Established in 1955, the Empress Diner has always been an important part of the community. In 1967, the Panagatos family became the proprietors and as they say, “the rest is history.” Mike and Danny accompanied their dad to the diner as young boys and did whatever job a youngster could do. When
they were old enough, they took over and assumed the day to day operations. Mike, a culinary trained chef designs the extensive menu.

Here’s where you can go to have breakfast, lunch or dinner any time of the day or night...get extra large portions for a modest price and know that everything is made from scratch. We sampled favorites like pancakes, made from their own batter; french toast (a thick slice of their house baked
challah); portobello over mesclun with tangy bleu cheese, craisins and pecans topped with homemade balsamic vinaigrette. Entrees are plentiful and we tasted tender filet of sole stuffed with full flavors of spinach and feta, served with a basket of their house baked Italian bread, fresh and warm. When you enter there’s a showcase of tempting homemade desserts. What a selection! Each is the best of its kind.

Art Deco in design, the Empress is a comfortable diner where you can enjoy high quality food, listen to some tunes from their jukebox and know you are in the capable hands of the Panagato family.
